Solar Powered Exhaust Vent with Bug Screen for Shipping Containers

When modifying a shipping container, proper ventilation should not be overlooked. It is one of the most important upgrades you can make, especially when storing dry goods, equipment or hazardous materials.

Most shipping containers come with two to four small vents, but these are not designed to provide continuous airflow. Their primary purpose is to equalize pressure during transportation while helping keep seawater out. They do not provide enough ventilation to prevent condensation.

Condensation can become a serious problem inside a sea can. Excess moisture may lead to mold, mildew, corrosion, and damage to the products or equipment stored inside. Installing an effective ventilation system can help protect your investment and prevent costly damage over time.

For consistent air exchange, consider the Solar Powered Exhaust Vent from Container Modification World. Under ideal conditions, it can exchange the air approximately every three minutes in a 20-foot container and every six minutes in a 40-foot container.

Because the fan relies on solar power, we recommend installing it with two BigAir® 45 passive vents. This is especially important when storing hazardous materials because the passive vents continue to provide airflow when the solar-powered fan is not operating.

The system is designed to help remove excess heat and moisture from shipping containers, van trailers and wood-framed buildings. Its computer-modelled frame is adapted to fit the included Canada Go Green 4 Seasons Solar Vent and can be installed in several locations on the structure.
